Greetings fellow homeowners of Deer Hollow,

My name is Lori Church and I am the current President of the Deer Hollow Homeowners’ Association, Inc. I have lived in Deer Hollow (Country Pines) for almost 23 years and have seen a lot of changes – good and not so good – in that time. I am hoping this year we can make some good changes and improve the world of Deer Hollow as a whole.

Every year and especially last year, one of the largest points of contention with homeowners is the budget and assessments. No one enjoys writing that check in March, but it is necessary. Everyone who purchased a home in Deer Hollow signed a form at the closing that stated you were personally responsible for payment of this assessment. It is due each and every year and there has not been a year this has changed. When a homeowner does not pay their assessment it increases the burden on your fellow homeowners and increases the Association’s legal fees trying to collect this obligation. Legal fees last year were a very significant portion of the Association’s expenditures that can easily be decreased.

We have an excellent Board of Directors this year that will bring different experiences and expertise to the Board. Four members return from last year’s Board and we have a new member who will bring us a fresh perspective.

We also have an excellent management company, York Management, working for us to assist us in day to day business. The Board members and especially I are in daily contact with the management company to keep on top of the Association’s business. Please call the Deer Hollow Hotline (941.371.4403 ) with any questions or concerns.

We are in the process of updating the Declarations of Maintenance and Land Use Provisions for Deer Hollow. The original one was written in the early 1980’s and needs to be brought up to date. This is the time for homeowners to submit their ideas and suggestions.

This is your Homeowners’ Association and we want it to work for everyone.

Lori Church, President
